Authorities say the car exceeded the speed limit and contributed to the crash.

ATHENS, GA — A crash report released Tuesday by Athens-Clarke County Police sheds new details into the crash that claimed the lives of Univerisity of Georgia football player Devin Willock and UGA recruiting analyst Chandler LeCroy.

Two other members of the UGA football program were injured and taken to a local hospital. LeCroy died at the hospital and Willock died at the scene.

The SUV did not yield to a left curve, "resulting in the vehicle striking a curb with its front passenger tire and leaving the roadway on the west shoulder," according to the report.

After leaving the road, the SUV hit two power poles and split them in half. Then, the vehicle continued heading south and hit a tree on its rear passenger side. The collision caused the SUV to rotate counterclockwise before landing against a nearby apartment building, according to the report.

The report showed the car was exceeding the speed limit of 40 mph in the area of Barnett Shoals and was a contributing factor in the accident.

The crash with the tree was the most harmful, according to the report. A parked car in the parking lot of the apartment complex was damaged by the tree, according to the report.

The front passenger had a laceration in the middle of his head while the backseat passenger had multiple injuries.

A funeral for LeCroy will be at 3 p.m., Jan. 18, in Toccoa.
