UGA Linebacker Cited For Speeding In A 55 MPH Zone: Report

The football player was caught driving 88 mph in a 55 mph zone in Watkinsville, a media report says.

OCONEE COUNTY, GA β€” A Georgia Bulldogs linebacker was recently cited for speeding in Watkinsville, Channel 2 Action News reported Friday.

The outlet reported the 18-year-old football player was driving 88 mph on a 55 mph highway. He is the fifth member of the University of Georgia football team to face traffic-related violations this year.

Jalen Carter, the 21-year-old former Georgia Bulldogs defensive lineman, pleaded no contest in March to reckless driving and racing charges, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.

Carter was charged in connection with the Jan. 15 crash that killed a Univerisity of Georgia football player Devin Willock and UGA recruiting analyst Chandler LeCroy near Barnett Shoals Road. Two other members of the UGA football program were injured in the crash.

According to CBS Sports, UGA linebacker Jamon Dumas-Johnson was charged on suspicion of racing and reckless driving five days prior to the crash that killed Willock and LeCroy.

De'Nylon Marquez Morrissette, 19, of Stone Mountain, was arrested in early May in Oconee County, and was charged on suspicion of driving under the influence of drugs, too fast for conditions and following too closely.

That same month, Marcus Rosemy-Jacksaint, 21, was charged on suspicion of speeding and reckless driving and was taken to the Clarke County Jail. A patrolling officer detected his car was traveling 90 mph on Atlanta Highway.
