2 Charged In Atlanta Robbery, Shooter At-Large: APD

Atlanta police are seeking the shooter in a robbery, which occurred Wednesday near Peachtree Street.

ATLANTA — Two people are in custody and one man is at-large in a robbery-shooting that occurred near a Greyhound bus station early Wednesday.

Atlanta police heard multiple gunshots around 5:45 a.m. near the 200 block of Peachtree Street, where they found a man going into a brown backpack in the restroom, according to a news release from the Atlanta Police Department.

The man told police he had been hit in the back of the head and that his bag was taken, according to police. Authorities were then notified that a gun had been left behind the restroom.

Police said the man was robbed, and that the robbery suspect was shot by an unknown person. Afterwards, the robbery suspect dropped the stolen backpack, which was recovered by the unknown shooter and returned to the victim.

"At this time, it appears the robbery victim and shooter know each other. Inside of the victim’s backpack was a stash of illegal narcotics," police said.

The robbery suspect was taken to the hospital and "charged accordingly," police said.

The robbery victim was charged for being in possession of the illegal narcotics and the firearm that was located inside of the restroom, police said.

Investigators are still working to identify the shooter, police said.
