ATLANTA — Two people died while seven others were rescued in a Wednesday morning fire at a home in the 1000 block of State Street, Atlanta Fire Rescue said.
Fire officials did not note the time of the blaze but said firefighters arrived within four minutes of being dispatched to find fire coming from the two-story home.
A resident suffering a minor ankle injury escaped the fire through a window and informed crews that someone was trapped inside of the home, fire officials said. The fire was upgraded to a two-alarm blaze to allow for additional resources.
