2 Face Drug Charges During Atlanta Traffic Stop
Police have released body camera footage in connection with the arrests of two people facing drug charges after a traffic stop.

ATLANTA, GA — A man and woman are facing drug charges after Atlanta Police say they found marijuana, promethazine, a loaded Glock and oxycodone during a recent traffic stop.
Police on Wednesday released body camera footage in connection with the arrests of Tyquavius Lawrence, 28, and Summer Butler, 24.
The traffic stop was for a stop sign violation and happened Thursday in the 700 block of Michael Langford Drive Southwest, police said.

They accused Lawrence of trying to flee the stop before he was quickly arrested.
The estimated 2-minute body camera video appears to show a man, who police identified as Lawrence, standing outside a car before an officer is heard asking him to get back into the car.

Police are heard telling the man not to run. The man appears to take off, and seconds later, officers appear to surround him and handcuff him. A woman, who police identified as Butler, is also handcuffed.
Officers recovered 224 grams of marijuana, eight bottles of promethazine, a loaded Glock firearm and 87 oxycodone pills, police said.
Lawrence was arrested on charges of stop sign violation, driving without a valid license, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony, possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance and obstruction, police said.
Butler was arrested on charges of possession of marijuana, two counts of possession of a schedule II controlled substance and giving false information to a law enforcement officer, police said.
Fulton County Jail records on Wednesday showed both Lawrence and Butler were released on bond Saturday.
