1. 2 Sentenced In Scheme That Defrauded $10M From Amazon: Prosecutors (patch.com) — Atlanta readers are learning how a local Amazon contractor and her partner were sentenced to lengthy federal prison terms after a multimillion-dollar fraud that funneled money into luxury cars and a Smyrna home. Prosecutors say the pair also forged court documents while seeking a Midtown hookah lounge franchise, leading to additional charges and forfeitures that include restitution of more than $9.4 million to Amazon.
   

2. Mass Shooting Suspect Sought In GA: FBI (patch.com) — Atlanta authorities and the FBI are asking for the public's help finding a 24-year-old suspect wanted in a deadly 2025 mass shooting on Edgewood Avenue that left one person dead and 10 injured. Investigators say the man, charged with felony murder and aggravated assault in Fulton County, may now be in the New York City area but remains a priority for Atlanta law enforcement.
   

3. This GA Town Named A Top 10 Pet-Friendly City (patch.com) — Pet lovers in Atlanta can take pride in a new WalletHub survey that ranks the city ninth among the 100 most pet-friendly places in the country. Atlanta stands out for strong pet health and wellness, plentiful outdoor options, and one of the highest numbers of animal shelters per capita, underscoring how welcoming the city is for four-legged family members.
   

4. GA Colleges Make Princeton Review's 2027 Best List (patch.com) — Atlanta students and parents may be pleased to see several local institutions, including Emory University, Georgia Tech, and Spelman College, featured in The Princeton Review's 2027 Best Colleges guide. The list recognizes seven Georgia schools overall, based on extensive student surveys about academics, campus life, and support services, placing multiple Atlanta campuses among a select group of standout colleges nationwide.
   

5. Why Atlanta's iconic Tabernacle venue is changing its name (fox5atlanta.com) — A longtime downtown Atlanta favorite, the Tabernacle is getting a new name through a sponsorship deal with iTHINK Financial, now officially branded "Tabernacle Presented by iTHINK Financial." The partnership keeps the historic venue's concert mission intact, though details on money, contract length, and any future renovations or visual changes beyond the marquee haven't been released yet.
