2 Peachtree Street Evacuated Over Suspicious Vehicle

ATLANTA, GA — A high-profile Atlanta office building was being evacuated Tuesday afternoon due to a suspicious vehicle, according to authorities.

Known officially as the State of Georgia Building, the skyscraper, at 2 Peachtree Street, houses state offices including the Georgia Department of Public Health and Department of Human Services. According to the Georgia Department of Public Safety, emergency personnel were on the scene Tuesday afternoon.

Located at the corner of Peachtree and Marietta streets, the 44-story building was built in 1966 and was once the tallest building in the Southeast.
