ATL Boy, 9, Shot Recording TikTok, Family Sets Up GoFundMe

A 9-year-old Atlanta boy was shot last week while filming a TikTok video, his mother says. She created a GoFundMe to help with his recovery.

ATLANTA, GA — The family of a 9-year-old boy who was shot in Atlanta has started a GoFundMe page to help with his recovery.

The shooting happened Thursday on the city’s East Side. His mother wrote that he was filming a TikTok video when gunshots fired. As of Monday morning, the GoFundMe has raised over $5,000 of their $20,000 goal.

The shooting happened along Flat Shoals Road in front of several bars and restaurants, reported WSB. A total of three people were injured, including Javonni Carson. He was taken to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta at Hughes Spalding with bullet wounds to both of his legs.

Carson’s mother said that two of her other children witnessed the shooting.

“They were there also, they saw all those guns, blood and seen the fire of those bullets as people fell in front of them and hid and ran and screamed for help.”
