Atlanta Peach Drop Returns For New Year's After 3-Year Hiatus
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is hosting the event, and hip-hop legend Jermaine Dupri will perform with special guests.

ATLANTA, GA — When the clock strikes midnight on New Year's Day, the peach will drop at Underground Atlanta after three years of being on hiatus.
Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens is hosting the well-known Peach Drop Festival from 6 p.m., Dec. 31, New Year's Eve, to 1 a.m., Jan. 1, 2023, New Year's Day, at Underground, 50 Upper Alabama St.
Jermaine Dupri, famed Atlanta-based producer and founder/chief executive officer of So So Def, is scheduled to perform along with artists Jagged Edge, Da Brat and YoungBloodz.

The Atlanta Police Department is expecting around 50,000 to 60,000 people to attend the Peach Drop Festival, officers said Thursday. The department shared safety tips for guests.
Officers recommend the following: use MARTA or a ride-share platform to travel to the festival, keep valuables out of sight and park in a well-lit location along the street or in a lot and lock cars.

Meter parking and paid parking will be available, police said.
Plans are in place to mitigate potential active-shooter situations, drone intrusions with suspicious packaging and car intrusions, police said.
Atlanta Police is partnering with other local law-enforcement agencies to secure the festival.
