Boo At The Zoo Presented By Georgia Natural Gas

From ATL Zoo: Atlanta’s favorite fun family Halloween festival returns at Boo at the Zoo presented by Georgia Natural Gas on Saturdays and Sundays, October 20, 21, 27 and 28, with festive fall activities for people of all ages.

Sample treats around the Zoo, and enjoy the sights and characters of whimsical Zoo Boo Town on four magical days for the entire family. Highlights include an inflatable corn maze; a Costume Parade; kids’ crafts and carnival games; kids’ party dance tunes; meet-and-greets with friendly costume characters; and a themed train ride (ride ticket required). Meet Atlanta’s favorite Stormtroopers and Star Wars characters with the return of the 501st Georgia Garrison.

Saturday, October 20 only: Meet a pirate from the Atlanta Pirates Guild.

Saturday, October 27 only: Animals around the Zoo get in on the Halloween fun with themed enrichment. Stay tuned to zooatlanta.org for a list of times.

Saturday and Sunday, October 27 and 28 only: Watch pumpkins come to life through the carving skills of artist Lundy Cupp.

Sunday, October 21 and Sunday, October 28 only: Hang out with superheroes, princesses and other favorites from Cosplay Volunteers of Atlanta.

Leaves of Gratitude sustainable palm oil activity: Leave a note of thanks for companies who have made the switch to only sustainable palm oil, and learn more about the connection between wildlife and unsustainable palm oil harvesting, on Saturday, October 20, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.

Processed from the fruit of the African oil palm tree and harvested worldwide in warm and temperate climates, palm oil is one of the planet’s most commonplace commodities. The oil is found in over half of all household products, from candies, foods and drinks to toothpaste, shampoo, cosmetics and pet food. Some of the world’s most concentrated regions of palm oil production are the nutrient-rich tropics of Sumatra and Borneo. These unsustainable activities are resulting in habitat loss and population declines for Sumatran and Bornean orangutans, Sumatran tigers and many other species.

Zoo Atlanta is a member of the Roundtable for Sustainable Palm Oil™ (RSPO) and is a vocal advocate for encouraging the use of only sustainably-produced palm oil.
