Boy, 5, Drowned At Fulton Day Camp, Family Suing

Investigators say the boy was allowed to wander off while 13 young campers were splashing in some shallow water.

ATLANTA, GA — The family of a 5-year-old boy who drowned while at a day camp in south Fulton County is suing for wrongful death.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reportsthat Benjamin "Kamau" Hosch III died on July 21 at Camp Cricket, at Cochran Mill Nature Center in Palmetto, just southwest of Atlanta.

Three counselors were with 13 young campers who had been allowed to splash in some shallow water at the camp, according to investigators. But somehow, the AJC reports, Kamau was allowed to wander away and it took a half-hour to find him after he was discovered to be missing.
