According to Atlanta police, the shooting happened around 10:15 p.m. in the complex between Campbellton Road and Arthur B. Langford Jr. Parkway. - The Salvation Army of Metro Atlanta’s Angel Tree program kicks off today with an all-day toy drive at four area locations – in Atlanta, Decatur, Marietta and Sharpsburg. Continuing through Dec. 3, this year’s Angel Tree program will make sure over 1,000 underprivileged local children - from newborns to preteens – wake up Christmas morning to gifts under their trees. The need-based program is part of the Salvation Army’s 32-year tradition of spreading cheer to Atlanta-area families during the holidays. You can adopt an angel or donate here. (CBS46 News Atlanta)
- Beginning today, just in time for the holiday travel season, Atlanta’s Hartsfield-Jackson Airport has opened a new rideshare area. Travelers now can catch an Uber or Lyft ride at the designated area on the north lower level, near the north parking deck. According to airport officials, the dedicated area – for rideshares only - was created to help increase traffic efficiency and flow while letting rideshare drivers enter and exit the lot much faster. - Attention job seekers: The Fulton County Sheriff's Office is hiring, and Sheriff Patrick Labat is offering new employees $9,000 signing bonuses. Details were discussed during a job fair hosted by the department Saturday, including the requirement that new hires remain with the sheriff's office for at least three years to qualify for the cash incentive. More information on current openings is on the Fulton County Sheriff's Office jobs page. (FOX 5 Atlanta)
- The Atlanta Housing Authority, long troubled by past lawsuits and leadership challenges, may be poised for an overhaul by Atlanta’s next mayor. One of the candidates in the upcoming mayoral runoff election, Atlanta City Councilmember Andre Dickens said, if elected, he will give various city officials - including the housing authority’s CEO, Eugene Jones - 100 days to demonstrate they deserve to keep their jobs. If Jones wants to stay at AH, the councilmember said, he will need to fast-track the development of city-owned property. (SaportaReport)

- Atlanta Humane Society: "With the weather changing and temperatures beginning to drop, our Shelter Medicine Team has started to see a sharp incline in the number of puppies and kittens coming into our care with upper respiratory infections and even pneumonia. Cases like these can be resistant to certain antibiotics, so in addition to ensuring each pet has the medication they need to get better, we often prescribe daily use of a nebulizer to help break up the congestion deep in their chests. With so many animals in foster and so many more sick animals coming in, we have completely run out of nebulizers. Could you please help us provide these little ones the top-quality care they deserve? You can order a nebulizer directly on our Amazon wish list here: https://a.co/0mmHxux" (Facebook)
