Dear Atlanta: Anansi Ink Studio Calls the City to Put Love in Writing

In a world where most messages disappear with a swipe, one metro Atlanta stationery brand is inviting the community to slow down, pick up a pen and say something worth saving.

Anansi Ink Studio will host Dear Atlanta: A Letter Writing Pop Up on Saturday, June 27, 2026, from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Black Coffee Atlanta. The event has a heartfelt goal: to inspire 100 metro Atlantans to write a handwritten letter to themselves or someone they love.

The free community experience is designed as a creative pause and an invitation to connection. Guests will have the opportunity to sit, reflect and write meaningful words on paper. The first 100 guests will receive complimentary stationery and writing prompts to help them begin.

Founded by Atlanta storyteller, photographer and communications professional Ty Mays Kelty, Anansi Ink Studio creates culturally resonant stationery for people who believe that words matter, intention connects and history is handwritten.

“Dear Atlanta is about more than sending a note,” said Kelty. “It is about reminding people that their words have weight. A handwritten letter can become a keepsake, a blessing, an apology, a love note, a record of who we were and what mattered to us.”

The event reflects Anansi Ink Studio’s broader mission to revive the art of handwritten correspondence in a digital age. Guests will be encouraged to write to a loved one, an elder, a friend, a future version of themselves or someone who needs encouragement.

For those who want to write but do not know where to begin, prompts will be available.

For Kelty, the goal of 100 letters carries both emotional and historical significance.

“I keep thinking about how many stories disappear because we never write them down,” said Kelty. “If 100 people sit down in one room and write one honest letter, that is 100 pieces of history preserved. That is 100 moments of love, gratitude, memory or courage made tangible.”

The pop up will also introduce guests to Anansi Ink Studio’s boxed stationery collection, which features original photography, blank notecards, kraft envelopes and writing prompts. The collection is designed for thoughtful note writers, gift givers, storytellers and anyone seeking a more meaningful way to stay connected.

Inspired by the African storytelling figure Anansi and the tradition of preserving wisdom through story, Anansi Ink Studio blends art, memory and correspondence into stationery that feels beautiful, soulful and purposeful.
