Event Changes To Know In GA As Hurricane Isaias Nears Southeast
Some weekend events have been canceled or postponed in Georgia due to the threat of Hurricane Isaias in the Southeast.
Hurricane Isaias, set to make landfall late Friday near the Alabama-Florida line and conjure impacts across Georgia on Saturday, has forced weekend event changes.
These include a breast cancer awareness event and a fall festival.

- The Great Pumpkin Fest, initially scheduled for Saturday, has been rescheduled to Oct. 31, Halloween. The event will be held at Cherokee Veterans Park, located at 7345 Cumming Hwy. in Canton.
- District 1 Commissioner Alaina Reaves and the Clayton County Library System has postponed the drive-in move event originally scheduled for Saturday in Jonesboro. A new date has not been released.
- The 3rd Spot UGA vs. Alabama Watch Party, originally scheduled for Saturday in Chamblee, has been canceled.
- The Jo Dee Messina concert, set for Saturday in Douglasville, has been canceled. This event will not be rescheduled.
- The 2026 Multicultural Festival at Harmon Park , scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled in Canton.
- Paulding Fine Arts Association's Fall Festival, scheduled for Saturday, has been canceled in Dallas.
- Chalktoberfest 2026, which includes the Craft Beer Festival and Community Chalk Competition, is canceled in Marietta. The event was originally scheduled for Saturday and Sunday.
- The 4th Annual North Georgia Folk Festival, set for Saturday in Athens, is canceled. Organizers say they plan to reschedule a smaller version of the event in coming weeks. They relocated the Monterey Pop event at Terrapin Brewery indoors on Saturday.
- The NAMIWalk has been moved to indoors. The event will be held at 8:30 a.m. Saturday at the Brookhaven City Centre, 4001 Peachtree Road NE.
- The Faith and Blue canned food drive and car show has been postponed to Sunday, Oct. 18. The event will be held from 3-6 p.m. at the Exit 14 Walmart in Holly Springs.
- Making Strides of Atlanta, a breast cancer awareness event set for Saturday, has been canceled. A new event date was not released.
