GA Governor Says Coronavirus Hospitalizations At All-Time Low
On Saturday, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced that Georgia has its lowest number of patients hospitalized with the coronavirus.
ACROSS GEORGIA — On Saturday, Georgia Gov. Brian Kemp announced that Georgia has its lowest number of patients hospitalized with the coronavirus since the state's hospitals began reporting data on April 8.
He said there are currently 1,203 positive patients in hospitals. Additionally, Saturday marked the lowest number of ventilators in use - 897 of the 1,945 available ventilators, said Kemp.
Today marks the lowest number of COVID-19 positive patients currently hospitalized statewide (1,203) since hospitals began reporting this data on April 8th.

Kemp said the state is also making progress in its testing capabilities due to its partnerships with Augusta University through the AU Health ExpressCare app.

He said the state has doubled its daily testing capacity and has now tested a total of 217,000 people.
"A few weeks ago, Georgia ranked 43rd out of 54 states and territories in testing per capita," Kemp said. "Today we are 29th."
As of Saturday, the Georgia Department of Public Health reported that there have been 32,532 confirmed cases of the coronavirus with 5,987 total hospitalizations and 1,400 deaths.
