GA Trump Trial: DA Seeks To Bar Release Of Interviews Amid Video Leaks

Per a media report, the leaked video interviews featured four co-defendants in a massive election subversion case in Fulton County.

ATLANTA — Fulton County prosecutors are asking for added security of discovery materials after recorded video interviews involving four defendants in a widespread election interference case were leaked, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported Tuesday.

According to the AJC, the leaks featured Atlanta bail bondsman Scott Hall and attorneys Jenna Ellis, Sidney Powell and Kenneth Chesebro.

The four defendants were among 19 people to be indicted, which included former U.S. President Donald J. Trump, after being accused of trying to overturn the 2020 presidential election results in Georgia.

The 16-page motion for protection order was filed Tuesday in Fulton County Superior Court, as shared by the AJC.

"The release of these confidential video recordings is clearly intended to intimidate witnesses in this case, subjecting them to harassment and threats prior to trial, constitutes indirect communication about the facts of this case with codefendants and witnesses and obstructs the administration of justice, in violation of the conditions of release imposed on each defendant," the motion states.

Prosecutors said they will not provide copies of confidential recordings of proffers to defense teams. They must go to the Fulton County District Attorney's Office to view such recordings, according to the motion.

Trump and several co-defendants have not had their day in court yet to answer the racketeering charges against them though at least four co-defendants, including Ellis and Hall, have pleaded guilty in the case.
