One of the key municipal races will determine if Atlanta Mayor Andre Dickens will retain his seat or if one of his opponents will replace him.

Dickens is eyeing a second term to lead Georgia's capital, but three contenders would like their turn at overseeing Atlanta.

He is running against McKesson Practice Choice developer Dr. Helmut Domagalski, former Atlanta Police officer Kalema Jackson and Atlanta native Eddie Andrew Meredith.

The next deadline voters may want to mark on their calendars is Dec. 2, when a federal runoff may be held. The last day to register to vote in the runoff will be on Monday, Nov. 24.

Early voting will start no later than Nov. 24 and will last for two days.

Election officials said absentee ballots in the runoff will be mailed as soon as possible.
