Ground Stop Extended Again At Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson Airport Due To Winter Storm
As of 2 p.m. Friday, more than 900 flights had been canceled or delayed and one plane was evacuated due to an engine issue.

ATLANTA, GA — A ground stop at Atlanta's Hartsfield-Jackson International Airport has been extended through Friday evening as a winter storm dumped sleet and snow across the region.
According to the Federal Aviation Administration, the ground stop went into effect shortly after 9 a.m. and will remain in place until 9:59 p.m. It was initially set to expire at noon.

Shortly after 9 a.m., Delta Air Lines Flight 2668 bound for Minneapolis had to be evacuated due to an engine problem that occurred when the plane was preparing for takeoff, according to the FAA and an Atlanta Journal-Constitution report.
It is unknown what caused the problem, but the FAA said passengers evacuated the aircraft on the snowy runway.

According to the AJC report, they were shuttled to the terminal. Four people reported minor injuries.
As of 2 p.m., more than 900 flights flying in or out of the airport had been canceled or delayed, according to flight-tracking website FlightAware.
Departure delays were averaging nearly 4 hours shortly after 2 p.m.
