Hattie B's Hot Chicken To Open In Atlanta
The much-anticipated Nashville-based restaurant will be located in Little Five Points in a former gas station.

ATLANTA, GA — If you've had a hankering for hot chicken, one of the very best places to satisfy that craving is coming to Atlanta.
Nashville-based Hattie B's Hot Chicken is scheduled to open on Thursday, July 12, on Moreland Avenue in Little Five Points. The authentic hot-chicken spot has been in the works for a while, but has been hit with construction delays, Eater Atlanta reports.
The Atlanta location, at 299 Moreland Ave., is in a 1950s-era Phillips gas station building. Its most recent occupant, Eater reports, was Little Five Points Coin Laundry.

Popular in Nashville's African-American communities for generations, the dish was popularized at Nashville's Prince's Hot Chicken Shack, which was founded in 1980. Such is the dish's popularity that the city now hosts the Music City Hot Chicken Festival every year.
Hattie B's, which has been profiled by national publications and ranked on multiple "best fried chicken" lists, now has multiple locations in Nashville, as well as restaurants in Memphis and Birmingham, AL. The Atlanta location will be the chain's first in Georgia.
"The response feels incredible, and we’re excited," Nick Bishop Jr. told Eater. "I’ve always had a great affection for Atlanta ... my dad, grandfather and uncle have all lived here. I’m also a big Braves fan and have great memories of going to the games with my dad. For us, opening a restaurant here is a big step and great opportunity. We gotta knock it out of the park."
