Heavy Rains, Flooding Possible in Metro Atlanta, North Georgia
But a pleasant, dry weekend is on tap after this current batch of storms moves through.
PEACHTREE CITY, GA -- March is going out like a lion, and April doesn't exactly seem to be coming in like a lamb, as heavy rains and flash flood watches are in effect for metro Atlanta and north Georgia.
The storm system moving into Georgia from Alabama brings the threat of widespread rain that could bring 1 to 3 inches, according to the National Weather Service. The system could also bring high winds, floods and even tornadoes beginning Thursday evening into Friday morning.
And those thunderstorms could impact Thursday evening's commute.

An 80 percent chance of rain is forecast for all of metro Atlanta and north Georgia on Thursday, with highs reaching into the mid 70s. Lows will dip into the mid 60s Thursday night, with the same forecast set for Friday.
After the round of storms moves through, however, a pleasant, dry weekend is on tap, with highs in the low 70s.
