Cox Communications: There Was No Widespread Cable Outage

Outages were reported on both the West and East Coasts, as well as parts of the Midwest.

ATLANTA, GA — Cox Communications, Inc. says there was no massive outage affecting numerous major cities across the country.

Downdetector.com reported that states affected on Monday included California, Nevada, Arizona, Oklahoma, Louisiana, Kansas, Nebraska, Washington, D.C., and Rhode Island. Specifically, the site reported major outages in and around Los Angeles, San Diego, Las Vegas, Phoenix, Tucson, Oklahoma City, New Orleans, Wichita, Omaha, Washington, DC and Providence.

However, a media relations representative with Cox disputed that there was any national outage, telling Patch in an email: "There is NOT a national outage. As always, we work to address any individual service issues as needed."
The company later said reports of a "widespread national outage" were "just not true."
