The mayor's Use of Force Advisory Council has a Friday deadline to share its recommendations.

ATLANTA, GA — The task force formed by Atlanta mayor Keisha Lance Bottoms to review the police department’s use of force policies has until Friday to share its final report with her.

The group of 28 people were handpicked to serve on the “Use of Force Advisory Council,” which makes recommendations to change the department’s use of force policies.

The mayor formed the group in June after police shot and killed Rayshard Brooks at an Atlanta Wendy’s.

The new advisory council created 10 early action items last month. From the recommendations, Bottoms issued three administrative orders. The administrative orders focus on identifying policies to improve officer compliance and public transparency of captured body worn camera footage; witness footage of use-of-force by officers, and community awareness about the Atlanta Citizen Review Board (ACRB).
