S.Fulton Home Where 4 Were Killed In Fire To Be Demolished

SOUTH FULTON, GA — An Oswego Trail home where four people were killed in an October 2022 fire police said was intentionally set will be demolished March 2, South Fulton city officials said Wednesday in a news release.

The demolition at 7250 Oswego Trail is set for 9 a.m. and will be supervised by the city's code enforcement officers.

Two women, a man and a child died after the Oct. 19, 2022, fire, South Fulton Fire Lt. Eric Jackson told Patch at the time. First responders were dispatched around 4:45 a.m. to the two-story, single-family home, which had heavy smoke and flames.

City officials said Wednesday eight people escaped the fire.

There are no charges in the case, which is still being investigated. Police have all needed evidence, and the house is deemed a safety hazard, city officials said.

“We’re demolishing the home to ensure the safety of others living in the neighborhood," Code Enforcement Director Brian Morris said in the release. "It basically is a shell of three walls. At the same time, we feel this is the start of healing for the neighborhood. With the house gone, hopefully the painful memories will start to fade and people can move on from this tragedy.”

The origin and cause of the fire have not been released.
