Singer Ty Dolla Sign Arrested On Drug Charges
The singer and rapper, who had a No. 1 hit in June, was set to co-headline a concert in Atlanta on Wednesday night.

ATLANTA, GA — The singer and rapper known as Ty Dolla Sign was arrested Wednesday for possession of cocaine and marijuana, just a few hours before he was set to perform a concert in the city.
Atlanta Police say the performer, whose legal name is Tyrone William Griffin, Jr., was stopped by a traffic officer at about 4:55 p.m. Wednesday near 810 Martin Luther King Jr. Drive. Police say the officer smelled marijuana and searched the vehicle, finding marijuana and cocaine.
Griffin was with six other people in the vehicle, according to police. The other six people were released without charges.

Griffin, 33, was booked into Fulton County Jail on charges of possession of less than an ounce of marijuana, possession of cocaine and obstruction of an officer. A judge granted him a $6,000 bond late Thursday morning.

Ty Dolla Sign had been scheduled to co-headline a concert Wednesday evening at Cellairis Amphitheatre at Lakewood.
After having appeared on other artists' records, Ty Dolla Sign released his first album, "Free TC," in 2015. It peaked at No. 14 on the Billboard U.S. Top 200. In June, his single, "Psycho," went to No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100.
A Los Angeles native, Griffin is the son of Tyrone Griffin, a member of the funk and R&B group Lakeside.
