SOUTH FULTON — A 78-year-old Riverdale man was shot to death by South Fulton Police after being accused of hitting a woman with a gun and shooting at the responding officers Tuesday in the 4400 block of Roosevelt Highway, authorities said.
The Georgia Bureau of Investigation said Wednesday officers were responding around 7 p.m. to a sexual assault call. The woman told police the man shot at her and hit her with a gun, the GBI said.
After learning of the man's possible location, the GBI said officers found him armed with a shotgun in a shed. The man was accused of shooting at the officers, and the officers then shot back, the GBI said.
