Tyler Perry Warns People About Fake Sites: GA Coronavirus

Tyler Perry said that people are pretending to be him asking for money. He's warning people to watch out.

ATLANTA, GA — Tyler Perry is sounding the alarm. The Atlanta media mogul warned people Wednesday to beware of fake websites and social media posts that claim to raise money for him. In a video, Perry said that there have been websites set up asking for money claiming to give it to those in need.

He said he’s seeing them on Facebook, Instagram and Twitter.

“Do not fall for this. Do not send anybody money thinking that I am sending money. Those are lies. They are all fake sites,” Perry said.

He has been helping people, but he said he doesn’t need to raise money to do so. He wants people to check his verified social media accounts if they want to know what he’s doing.

He is widely known for his charity towards the community. He has Perry paid for groceries at Kroger for senior citizens. Forty-four locations in Atlanta had their shopping bill taken care of.

Before that, he left a $500 tip for each out-of-work server at Houston’s restaurant on Northside Parkway, totaling $21,000.
