What's Open, Closed On Thanksgiving In Atlanta

What Atlanta services and offices are closed on Thanksgiving, Nov. 28? And what are mall hours for the holiday?

ATLANTA, GA — The 2019 holiday hours vary across the city. Atlanta malls have different business hours on Thanksgiving. All Atlanta post offices will be closed, including libraries in the counties of Fulton, Cobb and DeKalb. Banks will resume normal business hours Friday, Nov. 29. Here's what's open and closed in Atlanta this Thanksgiving.

Government Offices

There will be no garbage pickup Thanksgiving Day or Friday, Nov. 29. It's a federal holiday, so federal, state and county government offices will be closed.

Libraries

Fulton County libraries will be closed Thanksgiving day and Friday, Nov. 29. The libraries will close at 6 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 27.

DeKalb County Libraries will be closed Thanksgiving. They’ll close at 5 p.m. Nov. 27.

Cobb County Libraries will be closed Thanksgiving Day and Friday, Nov. 29. The libraries will close at 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 27.

Malls

Greenbriar Mall will be closed on Thanksgiving, but select stores will remain open.
Macy’s: 5:00 p.m. – 2:00 a.m
Piccadilly 11:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.
Dollar Tree 8:00 a.m. – 6:00 p.m.

Black Friday Greenbriar Mall will be open from 8:00 a.m. – 9:00 p.m

Lenox Square will be open from 5 p.m. to midnight on Thanksgiving.

Cumberland Mall is open Thanksgiving, from 6 p.m. – Midnight and on Black Friday from 6 a.m. – 10 p.m.

Post Office

This is a federal holiday and all locations will be closed. No mail will be delivered or sent. Regular business hours will resume Friday, Nov. 29.

Banks

All banks are closed on Thanksgiving and will resume normal business hours Friday, Nov. 29.
