Woman Injures Self In Atlanta, Prompts Road Closures
The woman, who suffered self-inflicted non-threatening injuries, prompted Peachstree Street and nearby roads to close Thursday.
ATLANTA, GA — A 48-year-old woman threatening to harm herself Thursday afternoon in the 350 block of Peachtree Street, prompting road closures, suffered self-inflicted injuries, Atlanta Police said.
Police said officers responded around 1:45 p.m. to the scene, where they shut down several roads, including between Porter Place and Ralph McGill Boulevard.
SWAT and negotiators responded, though police added the woman then refused to leave the building. Police obtained a search warrant, and SWAT went into the building and took the woman into custody, police said.

The woman had self-inflicted non-threatening injuries and was taken to a hospital, police said.
