ATLANTA, GA — Jury selection in a gang trial against famed rappers Young Thug and Gunna is set to begin Jan. 5, 2023, after a judge denied Thursday a request to delay the trial, Billboard reported.

Young Thug, whose real name is Jeffery Lamar Williams, and Gunna, whose real name is Sergio Giavanni Kitchens, are two of 28 defendants in the trial. They remain in jail until trial.

Fulton County District Attorney Fani Willis filed a motion for continuance in early October, asking the trial be moved to March 27, 2023, due to 8 of the defendants in custody not having attorneys.
