Local business owners and city leaders say the project is sparking new investment, adding beloved spots like a bookstore-café and gelato shop, and creating the vibrant commercial center residents have long wanted.

• DeKalb Schools paying $29.5 million to charter schools (decaturish.com) — DeKalb County Schools will pay $29.5 million to seven charter schools after a lawsuit over withheld funds, with the Museum School of Avondale Estates slated to receive about $4.07 million. Local families can expect this settlement to strengthen charter school resources and affirm their equal funding status within the district.
