• Images: Overhaul for offensively nicknamed Kroger roars ahead (urbanize.city) — A long-maligned Kroger site at Belvedere Plaza, just south of Avondale Estates, is being transformed into a $24.3 million retail redevelopment that should wrap up by next summer. Developers plan to attract four national retailers, likely including another full-service grocery store, bringing fresh shopping options to the Memorial Drive corridor a short drive from Avondale Estates neighborhoods.
