Business-building Organization for Women Celebrates One-year Mark

WOAMTEC — Women on a Mission to Earn Commission —first established a chapter in North Georgia's Chateau Élan area in May 2010.

A local business-building organization for female professionals and entrepreneurs is celebrating its one-year mark this month.

WOAMTEC — Women on a Mission to Earn Commission —first established a chapter in North Georgia’s Chateau Élan area in May 2010. In the year since, the Chateau Élan WOAMTEC group has quickly become the third largest chapter in the nation and No. 1 in Georgia with almost 60 members.

“We have set our sights on becoming No. 1 in the nation and growing our ranks to more than 100 members,” Ginny Bishop, chapter director, said in a news release.

The closed-category networking group is adding new members almost every week.

“Women have always been true pioneers, and we’ve grown weary of the present state of the nation’s economy,” Bishop said in the news release. “Rather than sit and wait for an uptick in the stock market, we’ve decided to take matters into our own hands by actively pursuing success through a ‘strength in numbers’ approach.”
