Auburn Gets Back to Business Following Thanksgiving Holiday
Auburn City Hall resumes regular hours and prepares for a city council business meeting later this week.

On the heels of a long holiday weekend that consisted of the closure of city hall on Thursday and Friday of last week, the City of Auburn gets back down to business by resuming regular hours today.
The doors of Auburn City Hall opened bright and early at 8:30 a.m. this morning, Monday, Nov. 28.

The next item on the agenda for the week is a city council business meeting beginning at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 1. The meeting will be held in City Council Chambers and attended by Mayor Linda Blechinger and council members Dorissa Shackelford, Donna Scouten, Peggy Langley and Robert Vogel. During this formal meeting of the city council, the minutes from the previous month’s business and workshop meetings will be approved, the mayor and council will present any reports or announcements, and the city's department heads will give their monthly report.
As always, the public is invited to offer comments on agenda items at the beginning of the meeting. At the end of the meeting, residents can request time to address the council regarding items that were not on the agenda. City council business meetings are held on the first Thursday of every month, and workshops are held the third Thursday of every month. The next meeting on Auburn City Council’s schedule is the city council workshop at 7 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 15.
