1.  The Board of Commissioners unanimously approved the patching of four county roads that will be resurfaced this summer under the Georgia Department of Transportation’s 2011 Local Maintenance and Improvement Grant Program. The patching must be completed before repaving can begin. Commissioners voted to accept a low bid from Baldwin Paving Inc., which will complete the work for $400,701.10, money that will come from SPLOST funds. The four roads that will be patched and resurfaced are:

  • 1.96 miles on Bill Rutledge Road from Patrick Mill Road to Matthews School Road
  • 1.60 miles on Giles Road from Ga. Highway 82 to Atlanta Highway

  • 1 mile on Sims Road from Ga. Highway 53 south to Oconee County Line

2.  The county entered into an intergovernmental agreement with the town of Bethlehem to facilitate municipal elections. The town will pay the county $1 per registered voter for unlimited yearly elections. The agreement is similar to one the county has with the cities of Winder and Auburn.

3.  Commissioners voted 4-1 to approve a request from Kisaalita to reclassify a job within the county’s finance department. The new job title is accountant/budget analyst. Elder opposed the motion.
