County Population Shows Marked Increase over Past Decade
The U.S. Census Bureau released data for the state of Georgia on Thursday.

Barrow County’s population increased by more than 50 percent over the past decade, according to date released Thursday by the U.S. Census Bureau.
The county’s population is listed at 69,367 residents compared to 46,144 in 2000.
Barrow is one of six counties, including Forsyth, Newton, Cherokee, Paulding and Henry counties, that saw a change in population of more than 50 percent from 10 years ago.

The data for Georgia will be used to redraw federal, state and local legislative districts to bring them in line with population shifts since 2000.
