Local Republicans to Host ‘Meet Your Representative Day’ this Weekend

The Barrow County Republican Party has organized an event that will be held Saturday in Auburn.

The Barrow County Republican Party has organized an event where residents can hear directly from some of the people who make decisions at the federal, state and local levels.

Larry Ballard, first vice chair of the Barrow County Republican Party, said Saturday’s event is the first of many to come over the next year.

“Hopefully everyone will have an opportunity to get to know the people they elect to represent them better,” Ballard said. “Hopefully from this, our community will begin to have confidence in their own voice, to let their representatives know what they expect from them.”

“We are hopeful and even optimistic, that from these events, which will be held in every district and every prescient and even down to every subdivision in our county, our community will become better informed about the decisions our representatives make,” Ballard said. “We understand that there are many young people in our community that want to become engaged. Our hope is that this will be an avenue that they can use to accomplish that.”
