Coach's comments

Ben Arms, head coach for Winder-Barrow's girls soccer team
"The Lady Soccer Doggs defeated Madison County this past Friday night, 4 to 0 to increase their region record to 7-2. Taylor West scored two goals.  Jessie McWhorter and Chasity Jackson also found the back of the net.  Ashley Hagenbaugh, Hayley Morgan and McWhorter handed out assists.  And Jessica Maynard recorded her seventh shutout in goal. This Friday will be senior night against Salem and this will lock in home field advantage for the first round of the state playoffs with a win."

Dan Woschitz, head coach for Apalachee's boys tennis team
"The boys tennis team lost another close match 2-3 last Tuesday at Stephens County. The Wildcats swept the doubles matches with wins by Brandon Tovar and Zach Batt at No. 1 doubles and seniors Sang Vue and Ryan Tanner won at No. 2 doubles. Alex Soubannarath took his match at No. 2 singles to a third set tiebreaker, but he lost 0-6, 6-2, (5-10). Jamie Hegluned and Micheal Duchesne played well but lost at their respective singles positions, first and third."

Ryan McDeermond, head coach for Apalachee’s girls tennis team
"Madison was pretty much a straight 5-0 loss for us. No surprises, no drama.  I would like to be able to challenge Madison a little more, but they just have too many talented players to compete against in this stage of our program building. On Tuesday we played Stephens Co. and lost 4-1 but the match was much closer than the score would indicate. (Here) are the results for that match: Kayla Vickery lost 6-2: 6-1; Jessie Walls lost 6-1: 6-2; Dianne Honan lost 6-3: 5-7: 4-6; Sara Cole and Paige Shearer won 7-5: 6-2; Morgan Scarboro and Haley Hasting lost 5-7: 6-2: 3-6."
