Qualifying Period for Braselton Ends with No Challenges to Incumbents

Richard Mayberry, who represents District 1 on the Braselton Town Council, and Tony Funari, who represents District 3, will both run unopposed in November.

The qualifying period for November elections for the town of Braselton has closed and no one has challenged the two incumbents up for re-election.

Mayberry, who was originally elected and sworn in November 2005, is a lifelong resident of the Braselton area, according to information on Braselton's website. Mayberry graduated from the University of Georgia with a bachelor's degree in finance. He served on the Braselton Zoning Board of Appeals from 2002 to 2005 and has also served on the Braselton Historic Preservation Advisory and the Braselton Land Use Advisory Committees.Β 

According to the town's website, Funari, whose current term began in 2008, has lived in Braselton for 15 years. Funari served on Braselton's Zoning Board of Appeals prior to his election to the council.
