Skip Super Tuesday Lines Thanks to Advance Voting in Winder

With Super Tuesday less than two weeks away, the question remains — which GOP candidate will end up out front? After months of debates, town hall meetings, in-party mudslinging and a rollercoaster ride of primaries all across the nation, it’s still anybody’s guess.

Indicative of just how much of a rollercoaster ride this fight has been — on the March 6, 2012, Republican Presidential Preference Primary ballot, the Georgia Secretary of State website lists front-runners Rick Santorum, Mitt Romney, Newt Gingrich and Ron Paul, along with Gary Johnson, who recently ended his bid as a GOP candidate and is now running as a Libertarian, and Buddy Roemer, who also ended his bid as a GOP candidate and is now running as an Independent. The ballot purportedly also still lists Michelle Bachmann, John Huntsman and Rick Perry — all of whom have long since dropped out of the race altogether. Barack Obama is the only candidate listed on the Democratic Presidential Preference Primary ballot.

Rather than join the press of humanity at polling stations all over Georgia on March 6, why not take advantage of advance voting in Barrow County?  Now through March 2, the Barrow County Administration Building — located at 233 E. Broad St. in Winder — is open to registered voters who wish to cast their advance vote in the 2012 Presidential Preference Primary. 

Polls are open 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. tMonday through Friday through March 2 and from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 25. In addition to Georgia, on Super Tuesday primaries will also be held in Massachusetts, Ohio, Oklahoma, Tennessee, Vermont and Virginia — with caucuses in Alaska, Idaho and North Dakota.
