Two Movies Opening in Local Theaters this Weekend

Until plans to construct a cinema off Ga. Highway 316 near where it crosses Highway 81 are complete this fall, Barrow residents can head two directions to take in the latest movie theater offerings — Gwinnett or Athens. Here’s a look at the films opening in local theaters this weekend in both areas: 

The Roommate, rated PG-13, follows a college student who finds her life threatened after she's assigned a dorm room with an emotionally unstable roommate. The film stars Minka Kelly, Leighton Meester and Cam Gigandet.

In Sanctum, rated R, an underwater cave diving team exploring the least accessible ave system in the world find themselves trapped. Inspired by actual events, the film was produced by James Cameron. The 3D underwater action-adventure stars Rhys Wakefield, Allison Cratchley and Christopher Baker.
