Water, Sewer Seasonal Rates Eliminated for Winder's Commercial Customers
The city eliminated seasonal water and sewer rates for its commercial customers effective immediately.

The city of Winder eliminated its seasonal rate charge for commercial water and sewer customers, effective immediately.
The rate has been in place since 2008, and its removal is aimed to help commercial business around the city.
"It was brought to the mayor and council's attention during the annual review that this program should be removed," City Administrator Donald Toms said. "This will help commercial business."

Although the item was tabled until next month's meeting, the council discussed potential locations for the building.
"We are looking at several different locations," City Clerk Sabrina Walls said. "And the possibility of using our own land at Cedar Creek Facility."
The previous facility was housed on Midland Avenue. The relocation — as most decisions are of late — is based around saving money.
"We are always looking at cost and what's best for the city," Walls said. "Many factors are playing into the picture, (including) space, cost (and) location."
The date of relocation is still to be determined.
