Winder Announces Upcoming Release of Proposed 2012-13 Budget

The city issued a notice to the public stating that proposed budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2013, will be available for review in May.


In a Notice to the Public dated Feb. 27, 2012, the city of Winder announced that the proposed budget for fiscal year ending June 30, 2013, will soon be available for residents to view at both at and online at the city of Winder website.

On May 14, 2012, the proposed budget for the city will be submitted by Mayor David Maynard to city council members for consideration. That same day, the budget will also be made available for inspection by residents inside Winder City Hall, located at 45 E. Athens St., between the hours of 8:30 am and 4:30 pm Monday through Friday. There is no cost associated with viewing the document, but if residents wish to purchase a copy, they may do so for $.25 per page or have the entire document placed on a CD for $2. The proposed budget will also be available for viewing and printing from the city’s website.

In order to receive comments from residents regarding the proposed budget, the city council will host two public hearings at the at 113 E. Athens St. The first public hearing will take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 17, and the second will take place at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, May 24. At the following regular council meeting, the council will then take final action on the proposed budget for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2013. That meeting is scheduled to take place at 6 p.m. Tuesday, June 5, at the community center.
