Winder Council to Hold Voting Meeting Tuesday

A preview of Tuesday night's Winder City Council meeting.

The Barrow County Economic Development Council is seeking additional funding, and the Winder City Council will decide at its meeting Tuesday whether to offer funds.

The department reaches out to all the municipal governments in the county to seek funding.  Also regarding the county at tonight's work session meeting, Barrow County Commissioner Ben Hendrix spoke to the council on ways he believes the city and the county can work together.

At Tuesday's meeting, the council will also discuss the possibility of having EMS response inside the city limits — a service it does not currently offer. Additionally, the city may have a new recycling program on its horizon, which will be considered further at Tuesday's meeting. Brad Martin with Republic Services was present at tonight's work session to brief the council on the potential new service plan.
