Winder Issues Request for Bids for Gateway Beautification Project
The city seeks proposals from contractors for a the Ga. Highway 81 South Georgia Department of Transportation Gateway Beautification and Roadside Enhancement project.

The city of Winder announced earlier this week that it is seeking proposals from contractors for the construction of the Georgia Department of Transportation Gateway Beautification and Roadside Enhancement project at G. Highway 81 South.
Drawings and specifications have already been completed, and the remainder of the project will encompass the furnishing of all materials, equipment and labor for the construction according to specs, including landscape and irrigation installation.
Copies of the contract documents and plans may be obtained from city of Winder Planning Department Director Barry Edgar at the Winder City Hall Annex at 23 N. Jackson St. Inquiries about this project may be directed to Edgar by calling 678-425-6812. Proposals for the complete work shall be made on the proposal form provided and shall be accompanied by a bid bond drawn in favor of the city of Winder in the amount of at least 10 percent of the entire bid for complete work. Letters of credit will not be accepted in lieu of bid bonds.

Sealed bids will be received until noon Tuesday, March 6, 2012. "Bid Item" should be noted on the outside of the envelope. If mailing, please send to the attention of Barry Edgar at Winder City Hall, P.O. Box 566, Winder, GA 30680.
If submitting proposal in person, the physical address for Winder City Hall is 45 E. Athens St. No submitted bid may be withdrawn after the scheduled closing time for receipt of bids for a period of 30 days. Proposals will be opened and read publicly at Winder City Hall. Construction must commence within seven business days of bid award and all work must be completed prior to April 2012.
