Man Shot Outside Of Country Club Dies
Christian Broder, 34, was waiting for an Uber ride with three other people when a man with a handgun got out of a car and robbed them.

BROOKHAVEN, GA — The man shot and killed during a robbery attempt outside a Brookhaven country club earlier this month has died, his family announced.
Christian Broder, a 34-year-old restaurant manager from Washington D.C., was robbed and shot in the stomach July 8 while waiting for an Uber ride after a wedding reception at Capital City Country Club, at 53 West Brookhaven Dr. He died Friday at a hospital in Washington, according to his family.
Police say Broder was one of four people waiting for a ride at about 12:15 a.m. when a car pulled up and a man got out, pulled a handgun and demanded their belongings.

After stealing items from them, the gunman started heading back to his vehicle, but Broder tried to follow him. That's when the gunman fired once, striking Broder. He then got in the passenger side of the vehicle and the driver pulled away.

Police arrested and charged Jayden Myrick, 17, on July 13. They are still trying to identify the driver of the car.
Broder is survived by his wife, a pre-kindergarten teacher, and his 9-month-old daughter, NBC Washington reports.
"We are heartbroken to share that last night Christian passed away. He was comfortable with Molly by his side and surrounded by loved ones," his family wrote on a GoFundMe page created to help raise money for Broder's medical treatment. "We are so grateful for your love and support over the last two weeks as Christian fought so hard."
The campaign had raised $271,510 of a $300,000 goal by Monday afternoon.
