Residents File Suit Against City of Brookhaven
The action came after the city council began considering the idea of a "pocket park" entranceway into Brookhaven.

Brookhaven Mayor Rebecca Chase Williams’ dream of a pocket park to serve as a gateway to the city may be in serious trouble.
According to the Brookhaven Post, several residents and a developer have filed a lawsuit against the city because they denied a rezoning application that would have allowed for town homes on Ashford Dunwoody Road, at the entrance to the Oak Forest neighborhood.
During last week’s city council meeting, Williams proposed purchasing a small parcel of property at that intersection for $350,000 to be used as a pocket park and provide “a beautiful entrance” to the municipality.

Back in May, the city council denied an application filed by Rockhaven LLC to build 37 town homes. Attorney Doug Dillard, who is representing the owners and Rockhaven, says the rezoning’s denial was unconstitutional, and they’re asking the city to reconsider the application.
