Buford City Schools open Thursday, Aug. 7 (as if you didn’t already know that).

Here’s a look at key dates for the 2014-15 school year:

Aug. 7: First day of classes

Sept. 1: Labor Day (holiday)

Sept. 19: Early release day/Homecoming (K-12)

Oct. 10: Faculty/staff professional learning day (student holiday)

Oct. 13: Fall holiday

Oct. 16-17: Early release days/parent conferences (K-12)

Nov. 24-28: Thanksgiving break

Dec. 22-Jan. 2: Winter break

Jan. 5: Faculty/staff professional learning day (student holiday)

Jan. 19: Martin Luther King Jr. Day (student/teacher holiday)

Feb. 16: Winter holiday (snow makeup, if needed)

March 16: Faculty/staff professional learning day (student holiday; snow makeup, if needed)

March 19-20: Early release days/parent conferences (K-12; snow makeup, if needed)

April 6-10: Spring break

May 22: Last day of classes
