Bank Robber's Note Wished Teller 'Merry Christmas'
Police say the robber got away from BB&T Bank in Buford with a small amount of cash.
Those weren’t the kind of season’s greetings a teller at BB&T Bank in Buford had in mind.
Police say a man walked into the bank, at 4394 Buford Dr., Monday afternoon and handed the teller a note demanding cash.
At the bottom of the note, he had written two words: “Merry Christmas.”

Bank employees said the suspect entered the bank through a rear entry near a Walgreen’s store at about 12:30 p.m., waited in line, then handed the teller the note.
He obtained a “small amount of cash,” according to a Gwinnett Police news release, and exited through the same door.

Police describe the suspect as a white male with a beard, between 35-45 years old. He stands between 5-foot-6 and 5-foot-9 and was wearing glasses, a blue cap, a black hoodie, blue jeans and white gloves with black tips.
Anyone with information in the case is encouraged to contact the Gwinnett County Police robbery unit at 770 513-5300.
