A Gwinnett County middle school was evacuated Wednesday due to a blown transformer.

The Atlanta Journal-Constitution reported the incident near Twin River Middle School in Buford happened shorty before noon, forcing students and staff to be moved to Mountain View High School.

URGENT: Information Regarding Todays Evacuation
TMRS staff and students have been evacuated to Mountain View HS. Students are currently being fed in the stadium then moved to the gym. Parents may check out students with a valid photo id. Dismissal is at 4:00. Additional details for tomorrow will be communicated later this afternoon. See our website for more information as we have it available.
Update 1:30 p.m.
Students will be dismissed at 4pm from Mountain View HS.
Buses will run as normal. Car riders will be picked up at the side of MVHS, facing the stadium.
