UNG’s Department of Visual Arts honors seniors, award winners

During spring semester, the University of North Georgia’s (UNG) Department of Visual Arts celebrated the accomplishments of its students with the presentation of awards and recognition and exhibitions that showcased the work of graduating seniors. Students recognized included:

Ryan Knowles of Buford (30518) won the Gainesville Outstanding Achievement in Art Scholarship. Knowles is majoring in studio art.

Shelby Carroll of Buford (30518) won the Gloria Shott Fine Arts Scholarship. Carroll is majoring in studio art.

Earns degree from University of the Cumberlands

On Saturday, May 9th, University of the Cumberlands (UC) conferred 815 degrees during their annual commencement ceremony; 227 Bachelor’s degrees, 540 Master’s degrees, and 18 Doctorate degrees. Cody Davidson (Sugar Hill, GA) was graduated from UC and earned a BS degree in Psychology.

Piedmont College Academic Honors Spring 2015

Piedmont College has recognized students from the 2015 Spring Semester who were selected as Dean’s Scholars and named to the Dean’s List. Students named as Dean’s Scholars have earned a perfect 4.0 grade-point average for the semester, and students named to the Dean’s List have earned a grade-point average of 3.5 to 3.99.

Dean’s List at Georgia Southwestern State University

The following local residents made the Spring 2015 Dean’s List at Georgia Southwestern State University and were among 487 students recognized for scholastic achievement.

President’s List at Georgia Southwestern State University

The following local residents made the Spring 2015 President’s List at Georgia Southwestern State University and were among 487 students recognized for scholastic achievement.

Inducted into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi

Tiffany Le of Buford, Ga., was recently initiated into The Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi, the nation’s oldest and most selective collegiate honor society for all academic disciplines. Le was initiated at Mercer University.

Name to Graceland University Honors List

The honor roll lists for Graceland University’s 2015 spring term have been announced, and David Kazadi of Buford, GA, has been named to the Honors List. Students with a GPA between 3.65 and 3.99 are named to the honors list.

Graduates from Clemson University

Stephen Anders Robertson of Buford graduated May 8, 2015, from Clemson University. Robertson graduated with a Master of Science in Applied Psychology. He was among 3,000 students who received degrees in commencement ceremonies in Littlejohn Coliseum.
